Surat's Unique Election Campaign: 'Phone Laao, UP Jeetaon'
BJP Appeals to Voters with Banners Promising Tea with State President
Surat: Although the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat are over, the election fervor continues in Surat. The BJP has introduced a unique campaign aimed at the city's Hindi-speaking population. The 'Phone Laao, UP Jeetaon' banners urge residents to call their relatives in Uttar Pradesh and encourage them to vote for the BJP.
The banners, prominently displayed in various public places, feature the photograph of Gujarat State President C.R. Patil alongside BJP leader Sangeeta Patil. They promise that individuals who call at least 20 people in UP to solicit votes for the BJP will be rewarded with an opportunity to have tea and snacks with C.R. Patil.
Participants must provide the names and contact details of the 20 people they called. After June 4, those who meet the campaign criteria will be invited to a tea and breakfast session with the state president. A team from Surat has already traveled to UP for on-ground campaigning, and the effectiveness of this novel strategy will be evident in the upcoming days.
