Arrest Made in Surat Bomb Threat Case

Surat police have successfully arrested the individual responsible for the bomb threats that caused a stir in the city. The threats, made via a call to the district police control room on Saturday evening, targeted three locations. The accused, identified as Ashok Singh, was located and arrested in Udhna.

According to DCP Bhagirath Gadhvi, the police tracked the phone used to make the threats. A collaborative effort involving the Crime Branch, Special Investigation Team (SOG), and Udhna Police led to Singh's arrest. Singh, employed as a retail laborer, hails from Uttar Pradesh.

The police believe Singh made the threats with the intent to disrupt peace and harass law enforcement. Interrogations are ongoing to ascertain if others were involved in the incident. The authorities are determined to ensure the safety and security of the city and its residents.

This incident is part of a series of recent threats and criminal activities in Gujarat. Just before the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat, 36 schools received threatening emails of bomb attacks. Additionally, Mohammad Sohail alias Maulvi Abukar Teamol was arrested for plotting to kill Surat's Hindu leader Upadesh Rana, revealing links to individuals in Pakistan, Nepal, and other countries. Recent arrests highlight the need for continued vigilance against threats to national security.
