Prajesh Patel, a 39-year-old residing in Canada, tragically passed away on April 21. His family, deeply moved by his commitment to humanitarian causes, made a remarkable decision to donate his body for medical education in India. This selfless act marks the first instance in the country's history of an Indian citizen living abroad donating their body for such a purpose.

The decision to donate Prajesh's body was made by his father, Prakashbhai Patel, who is a trustee of the Donate Life organization. Prajesh himself was actively involved in promoting organ donation awareness. His untimely demise, resulting from complications related to diarrhea and vomiting, occurred shortly after his admission to a hospital in Canada.

The process of bringing Prajesh's body to India involved significant logistical efforts, with assistance from Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Anand MP Miteshbhai Patel. His body was flown from Toronto to Delhi and then transported by ambulance to Od village, creating a somber and emotional atmosphere upon its arrival.

Prajesh's family includes his wife Sejal, who is a teacher, and their two children, Vihaan and Mihika, residing in Canada. His parents, Prakashbhai and Aartiben, live in Mumbai, along with his two married sisters who reside in America. Prajesh's donation was facilitated by Nilesh Mandlewala, founder of Donate Life, showcasing the power of altruism and leaving behind an inspirational legacy.
