Surat : Nikhil Madrasi Wins SGCCI Vice President Election

Nikhil Madrasi emerges victorious in the SGCCI Vice President election, receiving 2443 votes against Manish Kapadia's 2029. The election saw a 39.08% turnout, with enthusiastic participation and support from prominent members.

Surat - Nikhil Madrasi has been elected as the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce (SGCCI) with a significant margin of 414 votes. Madrasi garnered 2443 votes, defeating his opponent Manish Kapadia, who received 2029 votes. Out of a total of 11300 voters, 4624 cast their votes, reflecting a turnout of 39.08%.

The election, held at the Sarsana Convention Center from 9 am to 5 pm, witnessed enthusiastic participation despite the sweltering heat. The first hour saw 377 votes cast, with the peak turnout of 847 votes between 11 am and 12 pm.

Madrasi received notable support from Dr. Bandana Bhattacharya, Bhadresh Shah, and Mitish Modi, who withdrew their nominations and backed Madrasi's candidacy.

Following the conclusion of voting, the counting process commenced at 5.30 pm. Election officer and former Chamber President Himanshu Bodawala officially declared Nikhil Madrasi as the winner.

Celebrations erupted among Madrasi's supporters, former Chamber presidents, members, and his family, with drum beats and jubilant cheers marking his victory.
