Congress Suspends Nilesh Kumbhani for Six Years Over Surat Lok Sabha Seat Controversy

Surat Lok Sabha seat has been declared unopposed, sparking controversy within the ranks of the Congress party. Senior leaders are alleging foul play and are taking strict steps against Nilesh Kumbhani, the alleged mastermind behind the seat's uncontested status.

Recently, Congress leaders who were considering challenging the decision in court have shifted gears and are now retaliating against Kumbhani. In a letter issued by Congress Disciplinary Committee member Balubhai Patel, Kumbhani has been suspended from the party for six years. The decision was made during a disciplinary committee meeting, where Kumbhani's alleged negligence and involvement in the form cancellation process were discussed.

The letter highlights that despite being given an opportunity to clarify his stance, Kumbhani failed to appear and has since disappeared. The party accuses Kumbhani of causing other candidates to withdraw their forms, ultimately depriving voters of their rights. This suspension comes in light of Kumbhani's reported discussions about forming an alliance with the BJP, further complicating the political landscape in Surat.
