Medical Admission Scam Busted: Surat Police Arrest Accused

Surat Police have arrested Satish Bhupatbhai Kanani for allegedly cheating a science student aspiring to become a doctor. The accused lured the victim with a fake promise of MBBS admission in Goa Medical College and extorted Rs 15 lakh in 2019.

This arrest exposes a wider pattern of fraud. Kanani is reported to have multiple cases registered against him across various police stations in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra for similar scams involving MBBS admissions. He had been absconding for the past five years.

The incident highlights the plight of students vulnerable to such frauds after failing to secure medical college admissions in India. It serves as a reminder to students and their families to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of any admission offers before handing over any money.
