Surat, March 31: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced a planned water outage in parts of the city on April 1st and 2nd due to essential maintenance work involving the shifting of a large diameter water line at the Rander Water Works.
Areas Affected and Duration of Outage:
- West (Rander) Zone (April 1st): Water supply will be completely shut off from 9:00 am on April 1st until 9:00 am on April 2nd in all areas supplied by the Rander Warigraha. This includes areas on both sides of LP Savani Road, Gorat Road, parts of Palanpur Patiya, Parashuram Garden, Royal Platnium Society to Ganesh Krupa Society, Jahangirpura, Ugat Canal Road, Gauravpath Road, Kabutar Circle, Pal Gaon, Mora Bhagal, Ramnagar, Bhensan, and surrounding areas.
- South-West (Eighth) Zone (April 1st): Water supply will be unavailable from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on April 1st in Citylight Road, Piplod Village, Umra Village Tal, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, and S.V.N.I.T. campus and surrounding societies.
- South-West (Eighth) Zone (April 2nd): Water supply will be interrupted from 5:00 am to 8:00 am on April 2nd in Athwagate, Lal Bangla, Ghoddaud Road, Bhatar Road, and surrounding societies.
- West (Rander) Zone (April 2nd): There will be no water supply until 9:00 am on April 2nd in all areas under the Pal-Palanpur Scheme ESR-4, including areas from Pooja Flats to Sant Tukaram Dept. 2 & 6, Palanpur area, Jagadiya Chowk to Girdharnagar, and on both sides of the road from Twin Towers to Siddhi Vinayak Residency.
- Limited Supply in Parts of West Zone (April 2nd): Jogani Nagar Water Distribution Station will provide water supply on a departmental basis from 6:30 am to 9:30 am in Adajan village, Adajan Patiya, Anandmahal Road, Honeypark Road, Jogani Nagar, Prime Arcade, parts of Palanpur Patiya, Tadwadi, Palanpur Jakatnaka, and surrounding areas.
The SMC advises residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water for the duration of the outage.
