An elderly couple was rescued unharmed after part of the roof of their house collapsed in the Bhagal area of Surat, Gujarat, on Saturday.
The incident occurred at a three-story house located on Navapura Karwa Road. Five members of the family resided in the building. Fortunately, three family members who were on the ground floor at the time of the collapse managed to escape unharmed. However, a 92-year-old man and his 88-year-old wife, who were on the first floor, got trapped under the debris.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Surat fire department swiftly deployed a team to the location. Fire Officer Rajendra Rajput reported that firefighters used a ladder to safely reach the elderly couple and bring them down. Due to their age, the rescue operation was conducted with utmost care to ensure their safety.
Thankfully, no casualties were reported in the incident.
