Class 10 board exams for Gujarat began today, with over 1.6 lakh students appearing for the exams from 589 centers across Surat district. The first day was marked by a sense of excitement and positivity among the students.
Parents were seen dropping their children off at exam centers early in the morning. To mark the beginning of the exams, schools welcomed students with rose flowers and chocolates.
Considering the summer heat, the District Education Officer's office ensured all schools had ample supplies for students, including drinking water, sherbets, and ORS. Additionally, a health team was deployed at each center for any medical needs.
District Education Officer Bhagirath Parmar and top police officials visited schools to greet students on the first day. They distributed rose flowers and chocolates to boost morale.
In a unique tradition, Rishikumars from Shri Sandilya Rishived Sanskrit Pathshala donned dhoti-kurtas and chanted mantras on their way to the exam centers. They performed a puja to Goddess Saraswati, seeking blessings for success.
Surat schools implemented a "repentance box" initiative. This box allows students to anonymously dispose of any unauthorized study materials they might have brought unintentionally.
