New Leadership Announced for Surat City Primary Education Committee

Senior BJP Worker Rajendra Kapadia Named Chairman, Ranjana Goswami Vice President

New Leadership Announced for Surat City Primary Education Committee

Speculation surrounding the leadership of the Municipal Primary Education Committee under the Surat Municipal Corporation has ended with the appointment of senior city BJP worker Rajendra Kapadia as the new Chairman. The announcement was made during a general meeting where Kapadia was appointed Chairman, with Ranjana Goswami named Vice President.

The appointment of Kapadia and Goswami follows the resignation of the former Chairman, Dhanesh Shah, amidst allegations of involvement in a paper scandal. Executive Chairman Swati Sosa had been overseeing the committee in the interim. During the meeting, member Yashodhar Desai proposed Kapadia's name for the Chairmanship, which was supported by member Sanjay Patil.

With no other proposals forthcoming, Acting President Swati Sosa officially declared Kapadia as the permanent President. Kapadia then proposed Goswami's name for Vice President, which was seconded by member Vinod Gajera and supported by Anurag Kothari. With no other nominations, Goswami was appointed Vice President, and both assumed their new roles immediately.

The announcement of the new leadership marks the end of speculation that had been ongoing since Shah's resignation. Kapadia, a resident of Athwa Zone, was declared Chairman based on a memorandum from the city BJP.
