Love Turns to Loss: Woman Conman Steals Rs. 96 Lakh from Infatuated Landlord in Surat

Surat : Even as Valentine's Day painted the city red with expressions of love, a young man in Vedroad Viramnagar Society found himself on the receiving end of a heartbreaking betrayal. Dilip Dhanji Ukani, 39, became the target of an elaborate love scam, allegedly orchestrated by his tenant Jayshree Dinesh Bhagat, 29, and her accomplice Shubham Samadhan Misal, 30. The couple allegedly conned Dilip out of a staggering Rs. 96.44 lakh, leaving him emotionally and financially shattered.

Dilip's ordeal began when he rented out a flat in his Krishnakunj Society apartment to Jayshree and her husband Dinesh. Over time, Dilip reportedly developed feelings for Jayshree, who allegedly encouraged his advances and even persuaded him to move in with her and her sons at his Siddhi Vinayak Apartment flat. The web of deceit thickened when Jayshree introduced Shubham, claiming they were no longer involved. However, CCTV footage later revealed Shubham's frequent visits to the apartment.

On January 23rd, Dilip sold his Krishnakunj Society house, receiving Rs. 96.44 lakh in cash. He kept the money at home, unaware of the impending betrayal. On January 31st, Jayshree requested Dilip to drop her sons at her father's vegetable market in Dabholi. However, upon reaching the market, she vanished, leaving Dilip stranded and her phone switched off. Returning home, Dilip discovered both Jayshree and Shubham's phones deactivated and the Rs. 96.44 lakh missing from his apartment.

CCTV footage finally exposed the truth. The recording showed Jayshree and Shubham entering Dilip's apartment, stealing the cash, and fleeing together. Armed with this evidence, Dilip filed a complaint against the couple at the local police station. The investigation is ongoing.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of emotional manipulation and the importance of exercising caution when dealing with financial matters. As love filled the air on Valentine's Day, Dilip's story stands as a cautionary tale, highlighting the vulnerability that comes with trusting others blindly.
