Surat Hosts Youth Festival 2023 to Encourage Creative Talent and National Spirit
Over 300 Contestants Participate in Various Competitions Organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has organized Youth Festival 2023 in 150 districts across the nation. As part of this initiative, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Surat, recently hosted a district-level 'Youth Festival' at Oro University, Hazira Road, Bhatpore. With over 300 contestants participating, the event aimed to unveil the hidden talents of young people in various creative fields.
The festival featured competitions in poetry writing, painting, elocution, photography, and group dance, all centered around the theme of Prime Minister's 'Panch Prana.' Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar, District Development Officer B.K. Vasava, and other dignitaries honored the top three winners of each competition by presenting them with mementos and certificates.
In addition to the competitions, the Central Bureau of Communications, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Surat, organized a one-day exhibition titled '8 Years: Service, Good Governance and Poor Welfare' to celebrate India's hosting of the G-20 Summit. The exhibition showcased the achievements and performance of various departments in Surat, including the District Rural Development Agency, Employment Office, Narcotics and Excise Department, Tourism Department, and De-addiction Committee.
During the event, Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar encouraged the youth to engage in activities that foster national spirit and contribute to the country's development journey. He emphasized the importance of education, employment opportunities, and skill development in guiding young people towards self-reliance. The Youth Festival, Tomar noted, serves as a platform for growth and inspiration for the youth.
Sachin Sharma, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Surat, also appealed to young people to participate in the country's development and progress. The event was attended by various officials and students, including District Home Guard Commandant Prafullabhai Shiroya and Oro University Registrar Prof. Amrish Mishra.
