Rajkot Municipal Corporation seeks separate budget for Aaji Riverfront

RMC demands outstanding grant of INR 120 crores

Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) officials have presented a demand for a separate grant for the renovation of Rajkot's Ramnath Mahadev Temple and Aaji Riverfront to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The rulers of RMC have requested immediate allocation of the grant for Aaji Riverfront, which is a dream project for the city, and have requested the grant to be given separately instead of being included in the Golden Budget.

RMC Mayor Pradeep Dave has stated that the government has given in-principle permission to build a 1.2 km riverfront on the Aji River in Rajkot, but the grant has not been received yet. The first phase of the project received INR 49 crores in funds, but INR 120 crores are still outstanding. The RMC has demanded that the outstanding amount be paid immediately, and separately from the Golden Grant, as they believe that development works in Rajkot will be affected if it is included in the Golden Budget.

TP scheme offer presented to CM

During the meeting, the RMC officials informed Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel about the pending TP scheme of Madhapar, Mavdi, and Vavdi in Rajkot, and the pending questions regarding the Somnath Society in Ward No. 9, which is notified and whose owner is ready to pay INR. The officials have sent the file to Gandhinagar, but the work is still pending.

The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Bhanuben Babaria, MLAs Darshitaben Shah, Ramesh Tilala, Uday Kangad, Mayor Pradeep Dave, Chairman of the Standing Committee Pushkar Patel, Deputy Mayor Kanchanben Siddhpura, Ruling Party Leader Vinu Ghawa, Magistrate Surendra Singh Vala, and City BJP President Kamlesh Mirani.
