Inter-State Kanjar Gang Caught Stealing Mobile Phones in Surat

Surat - The Surat Crime Branch has arrested six members of an inter-state Kanjar gang that specializes in stealing mobile phones and other valuables from homes and shops. The gang used to break into homes with open doors and windows in cities like Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Sanand, Halol, Surat, Mumbai, Thane, and Pune, and sell the stolen goods in other states.

The police have recovered 51 mobile phones worth more than Rs. 3.35 lakhs from the gang members. The Surat Crime Branch team has solved more than 50 theft crimes by arresting the gang members.

The gang members, including four women and two men, used to steal early in the morning and flee the scene. The police arrested Ajay alias Ahmed Pappu Rajnat, Ravi Deva Rajnat, Maniya, Riyan Kanu Bhanwarlal Rajnat, Salma Rajnat, and Heena Praveen Rumal Rajnat based on information.

The police investigation has revealed that Ajay alias Ahmed Pappu Rajnat, who has a criminal history and was earlier arrested for mobile theft, was the gang leader. He was also lodged under PASA in Vadodara Central Jail.

The police have urged the public to be cautious and take necessary precautions to prevent thefts. Homeowners should ensure that all doors and windows are locked before going to bed and should report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The arrest of the inter-state Kanjar gang is a significant achievement for the Surat Crime Branch team, and the authorities must take strict action against those involved in such criminal activities to prevent such incidents in the future.
