Surat : Car Rams Police Post on Ring Road Flyover, Activa Driver Injured
Surat : A terrifying incident unfolded on the Ring Road flyover bridge in Surat late last night when a car jumped the divider, entered the wrong side, and rammed into an Activa driver and a traffic police post. Thankfully, no major injuries were reported.
The driver of a Brezza car, identified by its number plate GJ5 RF 9056, was speeding on the bridge when they lost control. The car swerved across the divider, heading directly towards oncoming traffic. It collided head-on with an Activa scooter, injuring the driver.
The car's momentum didn't stop there. It continued hurtling forward, eventually crashing into the traffic police checkpoint located on the bridge itself. The impact caused significant damage to the car's front two tires and bonnet, highlighting the reckless speed at which it was traveling. Thankfully, the presence of the divider prevented the car from potentially falling off the bridge, which could have resulted in catastrophic consequences.
While the Activa driver sustained injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, the car driver also received facial injuries and required medical attention.
Salabatpura police reached the scene promptly and took swift action. Both the injured drivers were taken for treatment, and the Activa driver's statement was recorded to initiate a complaint against the car driver.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of adhering to traffic rules. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, but the situation could have been far worse. The prompt action of the police and the presence of the divider likely prevented a more tragic outcome. This incident underscores the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and responsible driving practices to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads.
