Gujarat : "Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha" Empowers Young Girls, Sparks Vision for Future Leadership
Gandhinagar : National Girl Child Day held a special significance this year in Gujarat, as the state legislature hosted a unique event – the Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha. On January 24th, amidst the hallowed halls of the Assembly, girl students from across the state stepped into the shoes of lawmakers, conducting the business of the House and showcasing their potential for future leadership.
Daughters of Gujarat Take the Helm:
Witnessing the girls' confidence, Speaker Shankar Bhai Choudhary declared, "The future of Gujarat is bright, seeing the way our daughters handled the Assembly today!" He envisioned a future where daughters from every region play a pivotal role in the state's development, stating, "No one can stop Gujarat's progress if entrusted to such bright minds." He commended the Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha for making democracy accessible and relatable for young girls.
Echoes of Empowering Past:
Drawing parallels with historical struggles for women's rights, the Speaker recalled Raja Ram Mohan Roy's fight against Sati and Prime Minister Modi's efforts to address the skewed birth ratio issue in Gujarat. He emphasized the continuous journey of women's empowerment, with Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha marking a new milestone.
CM Patel: Paving the Way for Social Democracy:
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lauded Prime Minister Modi's initiatives in promoting women's power, citing the Assembly's Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha and the district-level Tejaswini Panchayat program as examples of Gujarat's dedication to inclusivity. He urged the girls to embrace both political and social democracy, leading Gujarat towards holistic progress.
Girls Discuss, Debate, Lead:
During the Tejaswini Assembly's Question Hour, crucial issues concerning girls – education, health, safety, and leadership development – were raised and discussed. Additionally, a bill regarding women's reservation was presented for public input, demonstrating the girls' active participation in legislative processes.
A Symbol of Hope and Change:
This momentous event, a collaboration between the Women and Child Development Department, the Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar Parliamentary Studies and Training Bureau, and the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, served as a powerful testament to the state's commitment to nurturing future leaders. As the Tejaswini Vidhan Sabha concluded, leaving an indelible mark on National Girl Child Day, it also ignited a spark of hope, promising a future where the daughters of Gujarat lead the way.
