Gujarat : Jain Festival in Songadh Draws State Chief Minister
Bhupendra Patel Lauds Temple Cleanliness, Statue of Bahubali
Bhavnagar : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday graced the Shri Adinath Digambar Jinabim Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav, a significant Jain festival, in Songadh, Bhavnagar district. His presence underscored the importance of the event and provided a platform to highlight the spiritual values cherished by the Jain community.
The Chief Minister's address began with an appreciative comment on the awe-inspiring statue of Lord Bahubali erected in Songadh. He then turned philosophical, drawing parallels between historical kings renouncing their thrones for spiritual pursuits and similar instances within the Jain community, where individuals leave behind material wealth and comforts to embrace the path of salvation. This act, he emphasized, serves as a powerful reminder of the transient nature of worldly happiness. He further commended the community's dedication to guiding one another onto the right path, preventing individuals from straying towards negativity.
Patel also took note of the ongoing nationwide cleanliness campaign championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed great delight in witnessing the immaculate condition of the religious site in Songadh, setting a commendable example for other places of worship. He concluded his address by praising the newly constructed statue of Lord Bahubali, the second tallest of its kind, and offered prayers for his blessings and guidance on the path towards salvation.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including MLA Jitubhai Vaghani, Bhikhabhai Baraiya, District Collector R.K. Mehta, District Development Officer Dr. Prashant Jilova, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Harsh Patel, Provincial Officer Dilipsingh Vala, and representatives from the organizing trust.
Patel's participation in the Shri Adinath Digambar Jinabim Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav served as a bridge between the state government and the Jain community, fostering mutual respect and appreciation for their respective values. The festival, with its focus on spiritual awakening and communal service, resonated with Patel's emphasis on guiding individuals towards a righteous path, setting a positive tone for future collaboration and interfaith understanding.
