Surat : Victory for Hardik Patel as Court Acquits Him in 2017 Unauthorized Rally Case
Former PASS Leader and BJP MLA Declared Innocent; Expresses Confidence in Judicial Process
Surat Court has delivered a significant verdict in the case involving former Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PASS) leader and current BJP MLA, Hardik Patel, who led a massive rally in the Sarthana area in 2017 without obtaining police permission. Despite facing charges for organizing the event without proper authorization, the court has acquitted Hardik Patel, emphasizing the triumph of truth.
In a rally that took place in 2017, Hardik Patel led a procession without obtaining the necessary police permission, leading to a case being registered against him. The city police commissioner's guidelines were violated during the event, resulting in legal action. However, after a thorough examination of arguments from both sides, the court ruled in favor of Hardik Patel, declaring him innocent. The court has also issued an order for an appeal bond of Rs 15,000.
Present at the Surat court, Hardik Patel expressed his gratitude to the judicial process, stating, "Today, truth has won; only truth wins. We had full faith in the judicial process, and I wholeheartedly thank the judicial system for acquitting me in the 2017 case."
Commenting on a separate matter, Hardik Patel addressed the recent resignation of a Congress MLA from Bijapur. He noted that leaders in the Congress party are feeling stifled, and those who have parted ways with the party are joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to support development initiatives. Hardik Patel further remarked on the people's mandate in Gujarat, expressing that the residents have given a clear mandate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out the lack of development in the constituency won by the resigned Congress MLA and asserted that Congress leaders are joining the BJP because of the latter's commitment to development, a sentiment echoed by the people of Gujarat.
