Demystifying Credit: Surat Entrepreneurs Get Insights at Chamber Seminar

Surat's entrepreneurial spirit received a boost in financial literacy as the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) hosted a seminar on "Credit Bureau Education" at Samriddhi Building, Nanpura. The session, spearheaded by Advocate Apoorva Bhagat, founder of Apoorva Foundation, equipped attendees with vital information on navigating the credit reporting system and leveraging it for success.

Kiran Thummar, Honorary Treasurer of SGCCI, set the stage by highlighting the crucial role of credit awareness in today's cautious financial landscape. "Understanding the credit bureaus and their impact on access to capital is not just a financial tool; it's a cornerstone for building economic opportunities," he emphasized.

Bhagat, the keynote speaker, delved deeper into the intricacies of credit bureaus, clarifying the existence of four key players - CIBIL, Equifax, Experian, and Crifimar. He demystified CIBIL's role as a data repository, stressing the importance of downloading credit reports only from its authorized website to avoid cyber fraud risks. Addressing a common concern, he also provided practical tips on improving credit scores and proactively managing negative flags.

Chartered Accountant Vipul Shah, Chair of SGCCI's Banking Committee, meticulously arranged the program and adeptly moderated the session. Mahesh Pamnani, President of SGCCI's Education and Skill Development Center, expressed gratitude to the participants and lauded Bhagat's insightful expertise. The interactive dialogue concluded with satisfied entrepreneurs having gleaned valuable knowledge to navigate the world of credit bureau reports with confidence.
