Gandhinagar - Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a three-day visit to Gujarat, where he engaged in significant talks with Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi in Gandhinagar on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi underscored India's unwavering commitment to supporting Mozambique's developmental priorities. The discussions between the two leaders spanned various crucial sectors, including defense, counter-terrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity building, and maritime cooperation.

One of the notable highlights of the conversation was the Prime Minister's proposal to enhance air connectivity between the two nations, aimed at fostering increased trade, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties.

President Nyusi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for advocating the inclusion of the African Union (AU) in the G-20, showcasing the significance of collaborative efforts on the global stage. The leaders also delved into topics related to cooperation in multilateral forums, including the United Nations. Prime Minister Modi commended President Nyusi for his active participation in the Voice of the Global South Summit in January and November 2023.

Acknowledging India's contributions, President Nyusi thanked the country for its support in various development projects, capacity building programs, and assistance in the realm of maritime security. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to maintaining a continuous and robust exchange of high-level political contacts, ensuring the sustained momentum of the bilateral relationship.
