Rajkot experienced unseasonal torrential rain on Wednesday, resulting in half an inch of rainfall within 45 minutes and causing widespread flooding on roads. The downpour has led to the loss of farmers' hard work as roads in areas such as Lodhika, Dhoraji, Jetpur, and University Road were inundated. Khirasara village in Lodhika was also hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, which flooded fields and roads.

The rain, coupled with thunder and wind, has affected not only Rajkot but also Surat, Junagadh, Dhoraji, Bardoli, Kadodara, Chalthan, Vareli, Antroli, Tatithaiya, West Kutch, East Kutch, Anjar, and Adipur. With the sky over North Gujarat expected to remain cloudy until March 25, the rain has damaged food items such as wheat, coriander, and chili stored in the open ground at Jetpur Marketing Yard.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted rain in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Narmada in North, Central, and South Gujarat on March 23. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur in Diu as well.
