Surat: A dyeing mill in Surat's Udhna area witnessed a dramatic firefight early Tuesday morning, leaving one officer injured and causing significant damage. The blaze, attributed to a malfunction in the central machine, erupted around 6 am at Shankar Dyeing Mill on Udyognagar Road No. 3.

Quick Response, Unyielding Flames: Fire stations from Maan Darwaja, Udhna, and Dumbhal promptly dispatched seven vehicles to tackle the inferno. However, the large quantity of gray cloth and the fire's central location intensified the flames, requiring firefighters to climb cement sheds and utilize water cannons.

Initial concerns led to his admission to the ICU, but he has since been shifted to a private hospital for further treatment. Chief Fire Officer Bansat Parikh, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Aggarwal, and Mayor Dakshesh Mavani visited the site and hospital, expressing their concern and ensuring proper care for the injured officer.

While the fire has been contained, the incident underscores the risks faced by firefighters as they put their lives on the line to protect our communities. Let us express our gratitude and offer our best wishes for Officer Shukla's speedy recovery.
