Ahmedabad Police Arrest Three for Robbing Pedestrians; 8 Cases Solved

Ahmedabad police have arrested three members of a gang responsible for robbing pedestrians at knifepoint in various areas of the city. Authorities have recovered stolen goods worth Rs 11.44 lakh, including gold jewelry, a motorcycle, and an Activa scooter. The successful operation by the City Crime Branch has led to the resolution of eight new criminal cases.

Based on information provided by an informant, the team led by PI BS Suthar of the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch arrested Shiv Singh alias Ashu Sikarwar and his accomplices. They had previously been arrested for possession of weapons and were known to target citizens traveling alone, stealing gold ornaments. The informant revealed that the suspects were en route to sell the stolen jewelry in Thakkarnagar via Khodiyar Mataji's temple.

Following their arrest near Nikol Khodiyar Mata Temple, the City Crime Branch seized the stolen goods and vehicles, valued at Rs 11.44 lakh. Interrogation of the suspects led to the resolution of eight additional cases. Police are now proceeding with further action against the three accused.
