AIIMS Project 60% Complete, PM Modi to Inaugurate in October

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited the under-construction site of the Rajkot All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Sunday to hold a review meeting and obtain details of the progress made so far. According to the Minister, the AIIMS project has been completed 60% and is expected to be ready for inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October.

In a statement after the review meeting, the Union Health Minister confirmed that the Prime Minister will be inaugurating the AIIMS, one of the 22 such institutes in India, in October. Rajya Sabha MP Ram Mokaria also spoke to the media, highlighting that the civil building will be handed over to the AIIMS hospital and calling for an MoU between the Civil Hospital and AIIMS.

MP Ram Mokaria expressed his commitment to improving the arrangements at the Rajkot Civil Hospital, the biggest hospital in Saurashtra, and stated that he would be meeting with the State Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel in the near future to discuss the matter. Despite some doctors allegedly bypassing their duties by drinking alcohol, he assured the public that he would strive to improve the conditions.
