Surat: In a brazen daylight robbery, three women posing as customers stole 23 pairs of silver anklets worth Rs 60,000 from Navkar Jewelers near Rander Morabhagal Char Rasta on Tuesday. While two of the women, Shobhaben Gulab Gopinath Jadav and Shashikalaben Bhagwan Shankar Jadav, were swiftly apprehended by Rander police based on CCTV footage and a tip-off, the third, Shankutla Chhotu Gangram Jadav, remains at large, declared a wanted fugitive.

The trio entered the shop, feigning interest in viewing silver anklets. Taking advantage of a momentary lapse in the shopkeeper's attention, they swiftly snatched 23 pairs of silver anklets weighing 1100 grams. Their swiftness and distraction tactics allowed them to flee the scene undetected.

Upon discovering the theft, the shop owner alerted the police and reviewed the store's CCTV footage. The clear visuals of the crime aided the Rander police in identifying and apprehending Shobhaben and Shashikalaben within hours, based on a tip-off from locals who spotted them near Morabhagal Machhi Market carrying bags matching the description of the stolen goods. All 23 pairs of anklets were recovered from the duo.
