Visavadar Seat in Junagadh District Sees Political Twist as Bhayani Steps Down and Hints at Returning to BJP

AAP MLA Bhupat Bhayani Resigns, Speculations Rife on BJP Joining

Ahmedabad – In a surprising turn of events, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Bhupatbhai Bhayani, representing the Visavadar seat in Junagadh district, tendered his resignation from the post of MLA on Wednesday. Bhayani, known for his service to the public and recognition for deploying 108 ambulances in the area, was one of the five AAP MLAs in Gujarat.

The news of Bhayani's resignation had been circulating since Tuesday, following his meeting with BJP state president CR Patil. Bhayani had emerged victorious in the last assembly elections, defeating Harshad Ribadia in a closely watched contest.

Early on Wednesday, Bhayani formally submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary, who promptly accepted it. In a media interaction, Bhayani, emphasizing his nationalist stance, revealed his earlier association with the BJP, where he had served as a worker for 22 years. The decision to resign from AAP, according to Bhayani, stemmed from a lack of a suitable platform and the need for timely political decisions.

Bhayani clarified that his move was not influenced by external pressure and hinted at the possibility of rejoining the BJP. Reflecting on his political journey, he noted his suspension as a BJP worker but stressed that it was a constitutional post.

As speculations rise about Bhayani's potential shift to the BJP, the political landscape in the Visavadar constituency takes an intriguing turn, leaving many to ponder the implications of this unexpected resignation.
