Surat - December 9, 2023: Following the tragic fire incident at its Surat facility, Ather Industries has released a media statement outlining its response and commitment to its injured and deceased employees.

Addressing the Loss:

The company confirmed that eight individuals were injured in the accident, tragically resulting in seven immediate fatalities and one succumbing to injuries while hospitalized. Nine others have recovered and been discharged after receiving necessary medical care. Currently, seventeen individuals remain under observation and receive ongoing treatment.

Upholding Employee Well-being:

Ather Industries emphasized its dedication to the well-being of its employees, prioritizing their recovery. Top-tier medical attention and facilities are provided to ensure the injured workers' full recovery, with the company covering all associated costs. Additionally, Ather Industries pledged a financial compensation of Rs 25 lakh to each worker suffering permanent injuries due to the incident.

Supporting Bereaved Families:

Recognizing the immense loss, Ather Industries announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh to the families of each deceased employee. Beyond this immediate financial support, the families will be entitled to further benefits such as insurance, provident fund (PF), and Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) payments.
