Mission 84: SGCCI Delegation Pushes for Collaboration with Brazil, Japan

Surat : A delegation from the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) met with Brazilian Ambassador Kenneth H. da Gobrecha and Japanese Ambassador Hoshima Suzuki in New Delhi yesterday, seeking their support for the ambitious Mission 84 project. The delegation, led by SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia and Vice President Vijay Mewawala, also met with Ajay Seth, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Indian Finance Ministry.

Connecting Businesses, Strengthening Economies:

Mission 84 is an SGCCI-led initiative aimed at boosting India's exports by creating an online platform for collaboration between 84,000 Indian entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide. This platform will facilitate interaction and business opportunities between Indian and international counterparts. President Vaghasia explained the project's potential to strengthen the economies of India and partner nations.

Building Global Bridges:

The delegation also discussed bringing together 84 Indian Chambers of Commerce and their counterparts from 84 countries on the Mission 84 platform. Additionally, efforts are underway to involve Consuls General, High Commissioners, and Ambassadors representing India and 84 other nations. This global reach aims to create a robust network for trade and investment opportunities.

Inviting Expertise, Showcasing Success:

President Vaghasia extended invitations to Ambassadors da Gobrecha and Suzuki to visit Surat for a business meeting with local industry leaders. This visit would showcase the thriving industrial landscape of South Gujarat and explore potential collaboration opportunities between Indian and Brazilian/Japanese businesses.

Surat's Economic Forum: A Beacon of Guidance:

The SGCCI has established the Surat Economic Forum under Mission 84. This forum invites national and international experts to provide guidance to Surat's entrepreneurs. President Vaghasia formally requested Ajay Seth, Secretary of Economic Affairs, to be the Chief Guest at the forum, emphasizing his desire to learn from Seth's expertise and guide local businesses.
