Gujarat : Cultural Heritage and Strong Economy; The Pillars of a Developed India
Ahmedabad, December 8 (Hindustan Reporter): Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the vital role of India's rich cultural heritage and robust economy in building a developed nation. He stated, "Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is the driving force behind the renaissance of our cultural legacy and economic strength. As we strive towards celebrating the centenary of independence in 2047, Prime Minister Modi has set the ambitious target of transforming India into a developed nation."
Interconnectedness of Culture and Economy
The Chief Minister inaugurated a two-day Cultural Economy Conclave at Gujarat University on Friday. Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Dr. Tamilisai Sundararajan, was also present on the occasion.
Highlighting the symbiotic relationship between culture and economy, Chief Minister Patel stressed, "The country's economy and culture are inextricably linked and exert a significant influence on each other. Recognizing and nurturing our culture while simultaneously strengthening the economy is paramount for national development."
He further emphasized the crucial role played by cultural festivals, traditions, social fairs, and programs in enriching India's economy. He stated, "Festivals are an integral part of our cultural fabric. They generate employment opportunities, support various industries, and contribute to the stability of the country's economy. The record-breaking GST collection during Diwali is a testament to this."
Cultural Reform and Pilgrimage Tourism
Chief Minister Patel commended the cultural reforms taking place under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He cited the construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and Mahakal Corridor as prime examples, stating, "These corridors have not only revitalized pilgrimage tourism but also provided a significant boost to the local economy."
He further highlighted the development of all-weather roads undertaken as part of the Chardham Yatra project under Prime Minister Modi's initiative.
Temples: A Driving Force
Governor Dr. Tamilisai Sundararajan emphasized the historical significance of India's cultural heritage. She stated, "Our ancestors and kings built magnificent temples that have served as cultural hubs and unifying forces for centuries. These temples continue to play a crucial role in promoting cultural economy development."
She lauded Prime Minister Modi's efforts in promoting India's cultural heritage globally. She noted the widespread adoption of Yoga, traditional medicine, and ancient health practices across the world. She also highlighted the international recognition of millets through the declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, emphasizing its contribution to both cultural identity and economic growth.
Multidimensional Discussions on India's Cultural Tapestry
Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Dr. Neerja Gupta announced the University's celebration of its 75th anniversary through the Paras Parv festival. She stated that the Cultural Economy Conclave, organized under this festival, will facilitate multifaceted discussions and deliberations on India's rich culture, traditions, pilgrimage sites, and sacred rivers.
The event witnessed the presence of MLA Amit Shah, Kaushik Jain, Harshad Bhai Patel, Jitendra Bhai Patel, India Think Council Chairman Saurabh Pandey, Gujarat University Registrar Dr. P. M. Patel, and a large number of students and faculty members.
