Gujarat : Girnar Nature Safari Park to be Closed for Four Days for Mahashivratri Fair

Ahmedabad, Gujarat - The Girnar Nature Safari Park in Gujarat, known for its rich wildlife and lions, will remain closed from February 15 to 18. The decision to shut down the park was made due to the Mahashivratri fair where the employees of the Forest Department will be busy.

Inaugurated in January 2021, the Girnar Nature Safari Park has been a major tourist attraction in the region, with over 6,976 visitors coming to the park in two years. The 26 km-long nature safari route is home to an estimated 50 plus lions, with around 15 to 20 lions roaming on the safari route.

Wildlife enthusiasts and tourists come to Girnar Nature Safari Park to catch a glimpse of the majestic lions and other wild animals like leopard, wild cat, jackal, chital, nilgai, and wild boar. The park has earned a revenue of INR 15 Lakhs from ticket sales and has also provided income to drivers and guides.

The closure of the park for four days will come as a disappointment for those who were planning to visit the park, but it is for a good cause as the employees of the Forest Department will be busy with the Mahashivratri fair.
