Ahmedabad : Rickshaw Driver and Friend Attacked by Passengers to Avoid Fare Payment

Ahmedabad: A rickshaw puller and his friend were left bleeding after being attacked by two passengers who sought to avoid paying their fare. The incident took place when the rickshaw driver dropped off the passengers at the Danilimda RV Denim area, and upon being asked to disembark, the accused reacted violently.

Idrish Shah, a resident of Ramrahim Hill in the Danilimda area, makes his living as a rickshaw driver. He has lodged a complaint against two unidentified individuals at the Danilimda police station. The incident occurred when Idrish was waiting for passengers near the Kalupur railway station. Two men approached him, requesting a ride to Danilimda RV Denim. Idrish obliged, allowing his friend Hasan to join them en route.

Upon reaching their destination, Idrish asked the passengers to disembark. The passengers initially insisted on traveling a further half-kilometer, which Idrish agreed to. However, when he again asked them to get off the rickshaw at the dumping site, the passengers became enraged.

The two assailants, disguised as passengers, began assaulting Idrish and proceeded to pelt him and Hasan with stones, causing injuries to their heads. The attackers then fled the scene, leaving Idrish and Hasan to seek medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

Danilimda police were promptly informed of the incident and arrived at the hospital to initiate an investigation. They have registered a case against the two unknown individuals and are currently pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the culprits.
