South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Launches Mission 84 to Boost Global Trade
Chamber President Ramesh Vaghasia Engages with Consul Generals of Singapore and Ghana to Foster Economic Collaboration
Surat - In a significant stride towards strengthening global economic ties, the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) embarked on Mission 84, a pioneering project aimed at connecting entrepreneurs and traders worldwide. Chamber President Ramesh Vaghasia met with Consul General Ming Foong Cheong of Singapore and Honorary Consul Premal Lokhandwala of Ghana in Mumbai on Monday to discuss the ambitious initiative.
Vaghasia elucidated the details of Mission 84, emphasizing its role in bolstering India's economy. The project, spearheaded by SGCCI, focuses on creating an online international platform to connect 84,000 Indian entrepreneurs with an equal number of global traders. Furthermore, efforts are underway to unite 84 Chambers of Commerce from India and 84 countries, fostering international business collaboration.
Crucially, the project aims to incorporate Consuls General of 84 countries serving in India and Ambassadors representing India globally. This strategic move aims to provide Indian traders with insights into business opportunities, laws, and regulations in different countries, fostering a conducive environment for international trade.
President Vaghasia urged Consul General Cheong and Honorary Consul Lokhandwala to actively support Mission 84, seeking their participation on the online platform. Both dignitaries affirmed their full support for the initiative, expressing readiness to promote it among businesses in their respective countries.
Consul General Cheong, highlighting Singapore's participation in Vibrant Gujarat-2024, extended an invitation to SGCCI officials to visit their stall. Additionally, he invited a delegation of Indian businessmen specializing in food products to explore opportunities in Singapore's burgeoning market.
Honorary Consul Lokhandwala, representing Ghana, expressed the nation's keen interest in benefiting from India's expertise across various sectors. He urged President Vaghasia to facilitate a delegation of businessmen from Surat to Ghana, emphasizing Ghana's positive stance on international trade.
In a collaborative effort, business delegations from Singapore and Ghana are expected to visit Surat, fostering a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and opportunities. The engagement signifies a pivotal step in realizing the potential for bilateral trade and economic development between South Gujarat and these dynamic nations.
