Gujarat to Host Startup Conclave in Preparation for Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024

Gandhinagar - The Gujarat government will organize a Startup Conclave under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on December 7 as a prelude to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024. The announcement was made by the State Government's Higher and Technical Education Minister Hrishikesh Patel.

The conclave will be preceded by a round table meeting on December 6, featuring the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology Rajiv Chandrashekhar.

The conclave aims to provide a platform for startups, venture capitalists, and leading businessmen to discuss and collaborate on fostering a conducive startup ecosystem in Gujarat and India as a whole. Topics to be discussed include regulatory reforms, compliances, tax incentives, and opportunities to attract more investment.

The conclave will also showcase success stories of Indian startups and highlight the achievements of the Startup India initiative launched by the Central Government in 2016. With around 108 unicorn startups valued at US$340.80 billion, India is rapidly becoming one of the world's leading startup hubs.

In addition to the conclave, the Gujarat government is also setting up a dedicated government company, "Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub" (i-Hub), to provide support and encouragement to startups and innovation in the state. The state-of-the-art i-Hub building, constructed at a cost of Rs 100 crore at the KCG campus in Ahmedabad, will be inaugurated on December 5 and will have the capacity to incubate 500 startups simultaneously.

The Startup Conclave and the establishment of i-Hub underscore the Gujarat government's commitment to fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem in the state and contributing to India's growing startup success story.
