Army Jawan Arrested for Killing Colleague's Wife over Illicit Relationship
Bareilly (UP) - The police have arrested an Army jawan, Nitish Pandey, for allegedly killing the wife of his colleague, Manoj Senapati, in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused was angry with Senapati, as he was in an illicit relationship with Pandey's wife. The police said Pandey killed Sudeshna as his colleague was blackmailing his spouse with her objectionable pictures and videos.
According to the Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Rahul Bhati, the case was registered on March 13 against an unidentified person at Cantt police station for Sudeshna's murder. The police team examined CCTV footage from the area and based on the footage, Nitish Pandey was arrested with the help of military police.
On March 13, Pandey went to Senapati's house and found Sudeshna there. He asked her to call her husband and ask him to delete his wife's pictures and videos. Sudeshna got angry and started arguing, and in the heat of the moment, Pandey attacked her with a 'khukri' on her neck and other body parts. After the incident, he washed his hands and dumped the khukri before fleeing the scene.
The police have registered a case against Nitish Pandey under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are investigating the matter further.
