Amazon Ceases Selling Kindle Magazine and Newspaper Subscriptions

Amazon has announced that it has discontinued selling magazine and newspaper subscriptions via Kindle Newsstand as of March 9th, and will stop delivering current subscriptions by September.

Kindle Newsstand provides Kindle-specific versions of publications that can be read on devices. Amazon has also ceased selling print magazines and newspapers in addition to Kindle Newsstand subscriptions. The company stated that customers could manage their print subscriptions through Amazon until June 5, 2023, following which all customer inquiries would be addressed by the publisher directly.

As per a recent announcement, Amazon will also shut down eight of its Go convenience stores in the US on April 1. The company will close two stores in New York City, two in Seattle, and four stores in San Francisco. Amazon has pledged to aid affected employees in securing other positions within the company.
