This is a tragic incident where a man allegedly strangled his mother in Delhi's Dwarka after a suicide pact between them went awry. The mother and son were reportedly in extreme financial distress since the death of her husband.
The police were called to the scene after an alleged suicide was reported. The deceased was identified as Basabi Biswas.
The son, Anirban Biswas, stated that on March 13, his mother took 70 tablets of hypertension, and on March 14, in the morning his mother was alive and in agony. He then allegedly took a necktie and strangled his mother. He allegedly attempted suicide by hanging himself but could not succeed.
A case of murder was registered on the same day, and the accused, Anirban, was arrested.
