Policeman Attacked in Surat while Checking Vehicles
Driver Drags Lok Rakshak Dal Jawan 300 Meters on Car Bonnet
SURAT, India - A Lok Rakshak Dal jawan was attacked by a car driver in Surat while he was checking vehicles in the Katargam area. The driver dragged the jawan for 200 to 300 meters on the bonnet of the car.
The incident occurred on Monday evening when the jawan, Gautam Joshi, was trying to stop a car for checking. The driver, Devraj Rawatbhai Badia, refused to stop and instead dragged Joshi along for a considerable distance.
Joshi was taken to the hospital with injuries to his left leg. Badia was arrested and the car was seized.
According to the police, Badia had borrowed Rs 10,000 from home and was giving it out on interest. He had purchased the car 4 to 5 days ago with the money he had earned.
The police are investigating the matter and are trying to find out how much money Badia had diverted in interest and how much interest he had collected.
