Gujarat Organizes Roadshow in Chennai for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024
Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai Highlights Gujarat's Pro-Business Policies and Progress in Renewable Energy and Semiconductor Sectors
The Gujarat government organized a roadshow in Chennai on November 2, 2023, to promote the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2024. The roadshow was led by Kanubhai Desai, Minister of Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat. Many eminent industrialists and government officials were also present on the occasion.
In his address, Desai shared his vision on the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and highlighted Gujarat's pro-business policies, ease of doing business, investor-friendly environment, and strong industrial infrastructure. He also appreciated Gujarat's contribution in the field of renewable energy and its commitment to the semiconductor sector.
Desai informed the audience that Gujarat has achieved a milestone in renewable energy with a capacity of up to 20 GW, which contributes 15 percent to the total renewable energy capacity of the country. He further said that Gujarat has set an ambitious target of generating 100 GW of renewable energy under the Green Hydrogen Mission.
On Gujarat's commitment to the semiconductor sector, Desai said that Gujarat is the first state in the country to implement the Semiconductor Policy, which aims to establish Gujarat as India's preferred destination for semiconductor and display fab manufacturing. He added that the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat conference will also organize several seminars and conferences on important topics like Semiconductor, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydron, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and Industry 4.0.
The roadshow concluded with a comprehensive presentation on the business opportunities available in Gujarat by Swarup P. (IAS), Commissioner of Land Reforms and Ex-Officio Secretary, Government of Gujarat.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is a biennial event that brings together global leaders from government, business, and academia to discuss and explore opportunities for cooperation and collaboration. The 10th VGGS is scheduled to be held in January 2024.
