Ahmedabad, November 02, 2023: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad on Thursday. He also spun the charkha for some time and shared his experiences in the visitor's book.
Dhami is on a visit to Ahmedabad for the Global Investor Summit. He paid his respects to the Father of the Nation at the ashram, where Gandhi spent many years of his life. He then spun the charkha, a symbol of Gandhi's self-reliance movement.
"The work done by Father of the Nation Bapu in the freedom movement always inspires us," Dhami said in the visitor's book.
Earlier in the day, Dhami paid a courtesy call on Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. He presented Patel with a memento of Baba Kedar, a revered Hindu deity.
Dhami requested Patel's cooperation in building a Uttarakhand Bhavan in Ahmedabad to cater to the needs of migrant Uttarakhandis living in Gujarat. He also invited Patel to visit Uttarakhand to discuss various development works in both states.
The two chief ministers also discussed ways to promote cooperation between Uttarakhand and Gujarat in various fields, including tourism, trade, and culture.
