Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Reviews Plans to Add New Attractions to Ahmedabad Science City
New galleries, biodiversity park, and open-air science exploratorium to be set up
Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday reviewed plans to add new and innovative attractions to the Ahmedabad Science City. He also reviewed the features of the existing galleries and various projects in the Science City, and how to make it more facility-rich.
The Chief Minister took detailed information about the plans for other new attractions to be set up in the coming time after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second phase in Science City in 2021.
Some of the new attractions that are planned include:
- Astronomy and Space Science Gallery
- Upgraded Musical Fountain
- Human and Biological Science Gallery
- Aviation and Defense Gallery
- Science Tower
- Biodiversity Park
- Open-air Science and Technology Exploratorium
The Chief Minister suggested that modern kiosks and touch screen technology should be employed so that visitors, students, and science enthusiasts visiting the Science City can give feedback regarding their experience and the arrangements of the Science City. He also instructed to take constant care of cleanliness and hygiene.
The Chief Minister conducted a comprehensive review of all these subjects and gave guidance for the construction of new galleries and parks along with time-bound planning.
Additional Information:
- The Ahmedabad Science City is a world-class science center spread over an area of 107 hectares.
- It was built in 2001 to connect the masses with science and to provide entertainment to everyone including children and youth along with knowledge and information about new scientific research at one place.
- Nearly 77 lakh people have visited the Science City in the decade 2012 to 2023, while 12.39 lakh people have visited the Science City in 2022 alone.
- About 4 lakh students have also come to see the Science City.
