BJP Rajasthan Leaders Restricted from Protesting without Party's Approval
No BJP leader in Rajasthan will now be allowed to stage protests without the organisation's permission, as per party officials.
Party officials have announced that no BJP leader in Rajasthan can stage protests without the permission of the organization.
The decision was made during a closed-door meeting of BJP veterans after party fractions were exposed during a protest led by Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena in support of war widows. The party will not support anyone who stages a protest on their own.
This decision was taken after Meena was detained for trying to visit the war widows who were picked up by the Rajasthan police. The party leaders have openly spoken out against the insults to the Pulwama war widows and Rajasthan MPs.
The incident led to protests dividing into two groups and slogans were raised against BJP state president Satish Poonia and Meena, respectively. BJP leaders claimed that anti-social elements from outside the party indulged in the violence, and a probe is currently underway.
