PM Modi to Inaugurate, Lay Foundation Stone of Rs 5941 Cr Development Projects in Gujarat
Projects to Benefit Seven Districts, Include Railway, Water Resources, and Urban Development Initiatives
Gandhinagar : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 5941 crore in Dabhoda village of Mehsana district of Gujarat on October 30, 2023.
Seven districts of Gujarat, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, and Patan, will benefit from these development works, which include projects from the Indian Railways, Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (GRIDE), Water Resources Department, Water Supply Department, Roads and Housing Department, and Urban Development Department.
Railway Department and GRID
- Freight corridor from New Bhandu to New Sanand, 77 km electrified double line along with 24 km long connecting lines, to be inaugurated in Mehsana
- Doubling work of 182 km long railway line from Viramgam to Samakhiyali, covering Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Morbi, and Rajkot districts, to be inaugurated
- 29.65 km railway project between Mehsana Katosan-Bechraji, to be inaugurated by Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation
- Total cost of these projects: Rs 5126 crore
Department of Water Resources
- Recharge work of various ponds in the delta area of Vijapur and Mansa tehsil in Mehsana district to be inaugurated
- Construction work of Valasana Barrage on Sabarmati river to be inaugurated
- Total cost of both these projects: Rs 130 crore
- Foundation stone to be laid for Panam Reservoir based Lift Irrigation Project in Mahisagar district, which will connect various ponds of Santrampur tehsil
- Cost of this project: Rs 139 crore
Water Supply Department
- Three development projects of the water supply department to be inaugurated in Banaskantha: Palanpur Group Package 1 (Part-A) and Palanpur Group Package 2; 80 MLD capacity water purification plant based on Dharoi Dam
- Foundation stone to be laid for the work of Dharoi Augmentation Part-2 in Mehsana
- Total cost of these four projects: Rs 212 crore
Roads and Housing Department
- Foundation stone to be laid for the work of making Naroda-Dehgam-Harsol-Dhansura road four lane in Sabarkantha district
- Cost of this project: Rs 166 crore
Urban Development Department
- Foundation stone to be laid for various projects in Gandhinagar, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Mehsana districts
- Under this, the first phase of expansion of sewage and septage management of Kalol Municipality of Gandhinagar district will start
- Laying of foundation stone for:
- 13.50 MLD capacity sewage treatment plant at Sidhpur in Patan district
- Sewage treatment plant for Palanpur Municipality in Banaskantha district
- 05.07 MLD capacity sewage treatment plant at Byad in Sabarkantha
- Underground drainage system work at Vadnagar in Mehsana district
- Total cost of all these projects: Rs 168 crore
The inauguration and laying of foundation stone of these development projects is expected to benefit a large number of people in Gujarat, and contribute to the state's overall economic and social development.
