31-year-old woman in Surat dies after showing symptoms of H3N2 virus: Samples sent for examination

Surat:  A 31-year-old woman from Surat's Dindoli area died while undergoing treatment for cold, cough and phlegm, raising suspicion that it may be due to the H3N2 virus, which is spreading across the country. Samples have been sent for examination to ascertain the cause of death. The H3N2 virus is considered as dangerous as the Covid-19 virus, and has already claimed two lives in the country.

According to sources, the woman was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the local area for four-five days, but her condition worsened and she was shifted to another private hospital in Parvat Patiya area, where she died during treatment. Samples were sent for testing after the post-mortem at Smimmer Hospital.

Symptoms similar to H3N2, including cold, cough, and phlegm, have been observed in people across the country, and cases of H3N2 have also been reported from Haryana and Karnataka. The Indian Health Ministry has issued necessary guidelines to tackle the spread of the virus.
