Vadodara Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Stray Cattle
Twelve Cattle Farmers Issued Notices to Close Sheds, 600 Kg Grass Seized
Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started implementing the Cattle Act to stop the harassment of stray cattle. Under this, VMC has issued notices to twelve cattle farmers in Fatehganj area to close their cattle sheds. Along with this, VMC has also seized 600 kg grass from a cattle fodder seller in Vadodara city.
The Cattle Act was enacted to prevent stray cattle in Vadodara city and was approved by the General Body of the Corporation with some amendments. After this, Municipal Commissioner of the Corporation Dilip Rana instructed the Director of Encroachment Branch, Mangesh Jaiswal to implement it strictly.
On the same basis, VMC has also initiated action to close illegally constructed cattle sheds in Vadodara city. Under this, VMC has given notice to the cowherds to close twelve animal shelters in the Fatehganj area.
Similarly, VMC's encroachment wing and cattle arresting team stopped the sale of grass to grass sellers to feed cows in Vadodara city, especially around temples. VMC seized 600 kg of grass from 17 locations in Vadodara city.
The VMC's action is aimed at reducing the number of stray cattle on the streets of Vadodara and to make the city cleaner and safer for residents.
