Gujarat Government Forms Committee to Study Rising Heart Attacks Among Youth
Government concerned about the issue, calls for research
Ahmedabad, October 25: The Gujarat government has formed a committee of expert doctors to study the increasing cases of heart attacks among the youth in the state. The committee will be headed by Dr. Chirag Doshi, Director of UN Mehta Hospital, Ahmedabad. Other members of the committee include Dr. Jayesh Shah, Dr. Gajendra Dubey, and Dr. Pooja.
The committee will collect and analyze data on heart attack deaths among the youth in Gujarat. It will also try to identify the causes of these deaths and recommend preventive measures.
The formation of the committee comes after the state witnessed a rise in heart attack cases among the youth during Navratri. According to the government, 766 cases of heart attacks were reported in the state during Navratri, of which 36 people died. The highest number of deaths, 16, occurred in the Saurashtra region.
Finance Minister and State Government spokesperson Minister Kanubhai Desai said that the government is concerned about the rising cases of heart attacks among the youth and has formed the committee to find out the reasons and solutions. He also dismissed the fears that the increase in heart attack cases is due to the Corona vaccine.
The formation of the committee is a welcome step, as it will help to shed light on the causes of heart attacks among the youth in Gujarat and develop strategies to prevent them.
