Surat BJP to Participate in Ahmedabad Program with 10,000 Workers
Party president says 'Meri Mitti Mera Desh' campaign a success, 7,500 pots of soil to be brought to Delhi
Surat, October 25: Surat city BJP president Niranjan Jhanjmera said on Wednesday that the party's "Meri Mitti Mera Desh" campaign was a success, with 30 chariots covering 30 wards of the city in the last few days.
"Workers at every booth in all 30 wards of the city tried to reach every house with a copper urn to collect soil or rice grains as a symbol of patriotism," Jhanjmera said.
He added that 300 workers from each ward of Surat city will participate in the Ahmedabad program on October 27 in six buses. "A total of 10,000 workers and officials will be going to Ahmedabad together," he said.
Jhanjmera also said that 7,500 pots of soil and plants will be brought from all over the country for the main program organized in Delhi. "The collected earthen pot will be installed in the under-construction Amrit Vatika near the National War Memorial. This Amrit Vatika will become a symbol of 'One India, Best India'," he said.
The "Meri Mitti Mera Desh" campaign is a nationwide initiative by the BJP to collect soil and water from all over the country and use it to create a "sacred grove" in Delhi. The grove is meant to be a symbol of national unity and diversity.
The Surat BJP's participation in the Ahmedabad program is expected to be a major show of strength for the party. It is also a sign of the party's commitment to the "Meri Mitti Mera Desh" campaign.
