Union Home Minister Amit Shah Lays Foundation Stone for Sports Complex in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday performed bhoomi pujan and laid the foundation stone for the construction of an advanced sports complex at Mansa in Gandhinagar district. He also ate food with the poor at 'Kusumba Annakshetra', a free food center run by Shantiba Charitable Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said that the government is making efforts for physical development, human values, and environmental protection in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. He expressed confidence that the sports complex, with its excellent training facilities, will prove to be extremely useful in enhancing the skills of the youth of the area.

The state-of-the-art sports complex, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1305 lakh, will have an indoor multipurpose hall, a 400-meter athletic track, two tennis courts, two volleyball courts, two basketball courts, two kabaddi grounds, a kho-kho ground, and a grass football field.

Shah also lauded the work of Shantiba Charitable Trust in providing free food to the poor and needy people in Mansa. He ate food with the poor at the Trust's 'Kusumba Annakshetra' and got complete information about the work of the Trust.

BJP State General Secretary Rajnikant Patel, Mehsana MP Shardaben Patel, Mansa MLA JS Patel, local leaders of Mansa, trustees of the Board of Trustees, college families, national level sports medal winning players, and officials were present on the occasion.
