Vadodara : A man was arrested on Wednesday for possessing a ladies purse and mobile phones of three different people. The accused, Saifali Sokatali Pathan (25), was spotted with the ladies purse under Jetalpur Bridge, south of Vadodara Railway Station.
When questioned by the police, Pathan revealed that he was a resident of Kasam Ala Kabristan, Srinath Petrol Pump, Karelibagh, Vadodara. On searching him, the police recovered mobile phones of three different people, Bluetooth earphones, a ladies watch, and a black watch. A total of Rs 47,560/- worth of valuables including the ladies purse was recovered.
Pathan was unable to provide any evidence regarding the ladies purse. Therefore, the Railway LCB police seized the ladies purse for investigation and arrested Pathan under section 41(1D) of CrPC.
It is noteworthy that Pathan has a prior record of assault and violation of traffic rules. He has been arrested earlier by Karelibagh Police Station, Raopura Police Station, CT Police Station, and Harni Police Station of Vadodara city.
The police are investigating the case to determine the source of the ladies purse and the mobile phones. They are also trying to ascertain whether Pathan is involved in any other criminal activities.
