Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Launches 'Amravan' Green Initiative
Chief Minister Plants Mango Saplings Near Jagatpur Pond in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday launched the 'Amravan' green initiative by planting mango saplings near Jagatpur Pond in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah's birthday.
The 'Amravan' initiative is part of a larger effort to make Gandhinagar a green parliamentary constituency. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will be constructing the 'Amravan' near Jagatpur Pond in Chandlodiya Ward of North-West Zone of Ahmedabad city, which falls in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency.
On the occasion of the launch, the Chief Minister also distributed benefit cards and kits to the beneficiaries of various schemes of the Central and State Government and flagged off the free eye checkup bus of Tej Eye Hospital.
Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, MP Kiritbhai Solanki, Municipal Corporation Commissioner M. Thennarsan, MLA Jitendrabhai Patel, Amitbhai Thakar, Deputy Mayor Jatinbhai Patel, Standing Committee Chairman Devangbhai Dani, Municipal Corporation members and employees were present in the ceremony.
The 'Amravan' initiative is a welcome step and is expected to boost the green cover of Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. It will also provide a much-needed green space for the residents of the area.
