Child dies in Rajkot after being stabbed by mother on advice of Ojha
Woman was told to burn incense sticks on the child's stomach to keep him safe
An incident of death of a child due to superstition has come to light in Jetpur, Rajkot. Gudiben Pintu Mumalde, a farmer family originally from Madhya Pradesh and now living in Wadi area of Sardarpur village of Jetpur, gave birth to a son 24 days ago. After that, when Gudiben was not able to produce milk, the newborn baby was crying continuously due to lack of milk. In such a situation, Gudiben contacted Bhuva (Ojha) living in Madhya Pradesh and asked for help to keep her child safe. Bhuva asked the innocent child to burn his stomach with incense sticks. After which the health of the innocent child deteriorated when the woman stabbed the newborn in his abdominal area. The death of an innocent child during treatment caused a stir.
According to family members, the woman was told by the Ojha to burn incense sticks on the child's stomach to keep him safe. When she did this, the health of the child deteriorated. He was admitted to KT Children Hospital, Rajkot for further treatment, but died after some time.
The Jetpur Taluka Police has registered a case and is investigating the matter. The forensic PM of the child has been done. The family is being interrogated by the police regarding the entire incident.
This incident is a reminder of the dangers of superstition and the importance of seeking medical help when needed.
